Big West Festival produced exceptional large-scale community and contemporary art works by, for and about the people of Melbourne's western suburbs.
During Marcia's tenure, diverse community participation increased to 900 per festival. Partnerships across business, foundations and government and supported over 400 contemporary artists to create new works over four years. Audiences increased from 38,000 to 168,000, philanthropic funding increased five-fold, and the participation of culturally and linguistically diverse artists and participants increased to 75%.
Major programs included NEWEST, Mobile Radio, Mobile Art Spaces, Dance Republic, Roadside Haiku and HOUSE Project.
